If you are new to vegetable gardening, getting started can be intimidating. Each gardener has their own goals and needs motivating their gardening efforts, which can be challenging to make into a plan. If you need more support than a DIY e-course, I can walk you through the steps to plan and create your veggie garden.
Every garden has a different purpose. Some gardens fill the purpose of a cutting garden, others a butterfly and pollinator garden, still others create a traditional landscape around a house, and others focus are food production. Even within those, there are variations that require different plant combinations and choices. Together, we can determine what specific functions you want your property or gardening site to have, and I will build the plan accordingly.

As mentioned above, each garden design has its own function and requires a plan with specific considerations. Truly, no two are the same. It is my pleasure to design a garden tailored specifically to your unique needs, wants, and desires. Each featured project below displays each project’s needs and how I met them.
Country Cottage Garden
Creating this cottage garden was a challenge, as it was a landscape that went around the entire house and had every type of gardening bed. There was shade in the north side, morning sun and afternoon shade in the east and all day summer sun in the west.
This four-season garden was built with shrubs that provide bird-friendly winter interest. The rest of the year this garden has even blooming throughout each season in a cottage style that provides flowers for flower arranging.
A Family’s Vegetable Garden
This garden’s purpose is for fresh eating with enough produce to can and freeze for winter provision. Tomatoes, broccoli, beets, cabbage, peas, zucchini, yellow squash, pumpkins, lettuce, and carrots were planted with companion plants for maximum yield and minimum weeds. Food for a family of 6 was produced in this plot.

Custom hanging baskets and containers have the opportunity to elevate your porch and front entrance. Tailored to the conditions where they will be placed, plant choice matters! Baskets and containers are be custom-designed for full sun, full shade, and everything in between.
