Farmhouse cottage garden

Cottage garden beauty.

The beauty of a cottage garden is that there is an incredible mix of flowers to choose from, and it lends itself to nonstop color and blooms. Four-season interest can easily be achieved.

This garden has a mix of shrubs and perennials and blooms from early spring with helebores and bulbs to late fall with burning bush, echinacea, and mums. During the summer, astilbes, iris, baby breath, clematis, anemone, roses, oneothera, bridal veil, ever-blooming lilac, among others.

Adaptable for any garden space.

Each side of the house has a different culture. The east side has morning sun and afternoon shade, the north side is mostly shady, and the south and west sides have blistering afternoon full sun.

Hostas, iris, and lilies unify all the beds, allowing for each side to have a unique mix of plants that shine in each area while still maintaining that cottage garden look.
